Common Questions
Do I need any previous woodworking or woodturning experience?
No previous experience is required. This intensive one-day course is designed for complete beginners as well as creative hobbyists who want to experience traditional woodturning techniques for the first time.
What will I make during the course?
Each participant will design and craft their own wooden piece during the workshop. Depending on the pace and chosen design, this could be a small bowl, decorative object, candle holder, or another beginner-friendly creation.
Are all tools and materials included?
Yes. All tools, safety equipment, and wood materials are provided as part of the course.
What safety measures are covered?
The course begins with a complete introduction to workshop safety, including proper use of the lathe, handling chisels and gouges, protective equipment, and safe working techniques.
What types of wood will we work with?
You will learn about different types of wood commonly used in woodturning, their characteristics, grain patterns, hardness, and how each behaves on the lathe.
How long is the workshop?
The intensive workshop lasts one full day and combines theory, demonstrations, and hands-on practice.
Can I take my finished piece home?
Yes. At the end of the workshop, you will take home the wooden piece you created during the course.
What should I wear for the workshop?
We recommend comfortable clothing that you do not mind getting dusty. Closed shoes are required, and loose sleeves or jewelry should be avoided for safety reasons.
Is the course taught in English?
The workshop can be conducted in English and Greek. Please contact us in advance if you have specific language requirements.
How many participants are in each session?
Group sizes are intentionally kept small to ensure personal guidance and hands-on support throughout the workshop.
